Asus ZenWatch 2 Gets Update With Speaker Support And More

The Taiwanese smartphone company Asus has rolled out updates for its flagship smartwatch Asus ZenWatch 2 – WI501Q & WI502Q. Owner are going to be automatically notified of the update as soon as the wristwatch is connected to the charger and is within the Bluetooth range of your smartphone. Note that users must have internet connections too in order to update Asus ZenWatch 2  wristwatch. The update will bring new features like gesture recognition, low battery draining, speaker support for making calls via Bluetooth, and a couple of other tweaks that’ll help the device becomes user-friendly and enhance its performance.

For those who didn’t receive notification for the update they can do manually by following the steps below.

  • Pair the wristwatch with your companion smartphone and make sure the smartphone is running on Android 4.3 or iOS 8.2 or higher.
  • On the smartwatch, swipe left.
  • Go over to Settings > About > System updates.
  • Follow the instructions to update.
  • Note you need to keep the wristwatch connected with the companion mobile device as long the update is in process.

Speaker Support: 

The ZenWatch 2 watches has got has got built-in speakers and now users can use that speaker to make calls by connecting the watch with your smartphone by connecting with the Bluetooth. Now users can hear notification alert, set audible alerts etc.

The updates will allows the device to play audio and video messages via an app called Glide or other supporting app.

Gestures:

One gesture will let your smartwatch know that the brightness of the display needs to be reduced as the device is not being used at the present moment. After using the Zen Watch 2, users will need to lower their wrist in order to remove from their lower viewing orientation.
