LG Stylus 2 Launched and Price Revealed in South Korea

The South Korean tech giant LG had unveiled its Stylus 2 device before the MWC Trade Show last month as a successor to the G Stylo / G4 Stylus from last year. Now the Stylus 2 is going on sale form this week onwards in South Korea for a price of 396,000 KRW in local currency which is approximately $328 and Rs. 22,076. The company hasn’t mentioned availability details but if a Korean website called Yonhap News is to be believed then fans in the West need to be too upset with the wait because LG Stylus 2 is going to reach the shores of North America and Europe later this month.

At the time of unveiling the company said that the LG Stylus 2 features a 5.7-inch In-Cell display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It’s powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor that comes with 1.5GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The handset weighs 155 x 79.6 x 7.4mm and weighs 145 grams. It has 16GB internal memory that can be expanded via microSD card. LG Stylus 2 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by a 3000mAh battery. When it comes to camera, the device offers 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front-facing camera. As for connectivity, the device supports  LTE, 3G, and 2G connectivity options along with Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Micro-USB. The device will be available in three colour options – Titan, Brown and White.

Some of the most unique features of LG Stylus 2 that was revealed at the MWC 2016 is the nan-tipped pen that will supposed to work more accurately compared to rubber-tipped pens seen in the predecessor LG G4 Stylus. The all new LG Stylus 2 will have something called Pen Pop which is basically a pop up menu that’ll appear when ever the stylus is removed. In the menu users can find shortcuts like Pop Scanner and Pop Memo. One of the most significant feature among these is the Pen Keeper that promises to notify the user whenever the pen bay is empty.

To recall, at the present moment LG G Stylo is sold at $290 in the United States of America and when the LG G4 Stylus was launched in India last year it was priced at Rs 24,990. It comes with 5.7-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 with 258 pixels per inch. It runs on  1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with only 1GB RAM coupled with 16GB internal memory that can be expanded upto 64GB via a microSD card. The device runs on Android 5.0 and is powered by a 3000mAh removable battery. As for connectivity, the LG G4 Stylus supports dual SIM, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, 4G (used by some LTE networks in India) etc. And for the camera, LG G4 Stylus has got 13-megapixel primary camera and  5-megapixel primary camera selfie shooter.
