Samsung has announced the launch of two new edition of Gear S2. The new edition includes two Gear S2 Classic available in Rose Gold, Platinum and one Gear S2 White. The new Gear S2 smartwatch are available in all Samsung retail channels. The Gear S2 White comes for Rs 24,300 and the Gear S2 Classic Gold and Platinum variants are priced at Rs 34,900.
The new Samsung Gear S2 comes with a host of new features and choices of apps like G’Night sleep tracking app, cab service app for Uber, My Notes for reminder, a brand new YouTube browsing app called Xenozu etc. Apart from these Gear S2 offers a number of games and features like the intuitive rotating bezel can be used as a natural game controller.
Now for the design, the Gear S2 White comes with a silver dial that has a matching sporty white elastomer strap. The Rose Gold and Platinum variants comes with a dial and buckle that is encased with platings. The new Gear S2 variants have got premium leather standardized 20mm straps, white coloured straps for Rose Gold and black for Platinum. The straps are changeable too.
As for the features, the device comes with 1.2-inch circular AMOLED display with 360 by 360 pixels resolution. The smartwatch is powered by a dual-core Exynos processor clocked at 1GHz. It comes coupled with with 512MB RAM. The Samsung Gear S2 is powered by Tizen OS and has got 4GB internal memory. The device is dust and water resistant and also features a heart rate sensor. It runs on 250mAh battery and as for connectivity, Gear S2 has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC etc options.
Its worth mentioning that with the launch of these two variants, Samsung Gear S2 is available in five different variants in India – Gear S2 Classic Rose Gold, Gear S2 Classic Black, Gear S2 Black, Gear S2 White and Gear S2 Classic Platinum.
Earlier this year, Samsung had launched two variants Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic available at Rs 24,300 and Rs 25,800. To recall, the devices came out along with the Samsung Gear VR headset.
