And reports have come in that the much-anticipated HTC Vive 2 is going to be released sometime later in the year 2017.
Previous rumours have come in that the HTC Vive 2 is going to be launched during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017. But the latest news that has come in is bound to make the awaiting fans a bit disappointed as they were expecting an early launch of the upcoming VR device from HTC. It is stated in the news that has come up recently is that the official unveiling of the HTC Vive 2 is going to be held later on. The company has ruled out all the rumours regarding the formal launch of the HTC Vive 2 during the CES 2017.
Expectations were high that HTC would come up with the HTC Vive 2 during the CES 2017 because of the fact that HTC launched the HTC Vive Pro in last year’s CES. But all the speculations are wiped away with the official word coming out from the company that there is absolutely no chance of a new generation VR getting unveiled during this year’s event.
Coming to the features of the HTC Vive 2, it can be said that if the rumours turn out to be true, the HTC Vive 2 is going to be one of the most updated VRs. It has been estimated that the HTC Vive 2 is going to be launched with twin 4K display. The device is expected to run at 120Hz which is much higher than the 90Hz of the currently available devices. The HTC Vive 2 is expected to come out with a higher price tag. It is believed that the HTC Vive 2 is going to come at a higher price than $799 which is the cost of the currently available version of the device. The HTC Vive 2 is expected to come out with better and updated features, and thus the price hike is understandable.
However, the fans will have to keep on waiting before getting a glimpse of the HTC Vive 2. It is not known how long we will have to wait, but it seems that it could be longer although fans are keeping their fingers crossed expecting the HTC Vive 2 to come out at least after the CES. For the time being, we need to keep on waiting for an official word regarding the HTC Vive 2.
