Xiaomi Mi 6 Live Images Appear Online, But Are They Real?

The Xiaomi Mi 6 may have given up some of its secrets in a recent series of leaked images. These images initially appeared on the Chinese social networking site Weibo. The leaks have focused on the front of the display and may shed some light on the display of the new Xiaomi Mi 6. The Xiaomi Mi 6, however, has confirmed that it will not put in an appearance at the upcoming Mobile World Congress or the MWC in Barcelona three days from now.

Xiaomi Mi 6 Leaked Images Analysed

The Xiaomi Mi 6, as shown in the leaked images, has a very good skin-to-body ratio. The photos of the soon-to-be-launched Xiaomi Mi 6 shows a marked departure from the previous design philosophy of Xiaomi. By this, we mean the design of the preceding Mi 5 and the superbly crafted Mi 4. In fact, the new Xiaomi Mi 6’s design appears very similar to the other handset that Xiaomi plans to launch globally, the Mi Mix.

The photos of the new Xiaomi Mi 6, if they are the real deal, do not show the brand name of the device in question. This may mean that the new device in question may or may not be an actual Xiaomi device. The other design features on the leaked images do not show anything spectacular. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer seems to have dumped the physical home company for good in keeping with the announcements from Apple which will launch its tenth-generation iPhone 8 later this year. The screen size of the alleged Xiaomi Mi 6 seems to be ranging from 5.2 to 5.5 inches. The other notable feature in the photos is that the Mi 6 seems to be running the proprietary Android-based MIUI skin.

Xiaomi Mi 6 Specs and Features

Xiaomi, which is the world’s fourth-largest smartphone manufacturer, will launch three variants of the Xiaomi Mi 6. Features include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, which was unveiled very recently at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.  The new Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to have two variants, one with 4GB of RAM while the other, more premium version, will come equipped with 6GB of RAM. Reports suggest that the Android Nougat OS will come pre-installed on the Xiaomi Mi 6.

The new Xiaomi Mi 6 will be priced at 1999 Yuan which translates to a very reasonable Rs 19,682 for the standard or ‘ordinary’ variant. The more premium variant will come for a slightly more expensive 2499 Yuan, which is an approximate Rs 24,605. Xiaomi is expected to give other mobile giants a run for their money.
