Xiaomi Jason May Be Launched As Xiaomi Mi 6X

Privately owned Chinese electronics company Xiaomi‘s latest device Xiaomi Jason was found listed on GFXBench Benchmarking website last week and now latest reports suggest that the device may be launched as Xiaomi Mi 6X. Priced at 1999 Yuan (which is around Rs. 18,900 in Indian value), the device might see the light of the day in August this year.

Xiaomi Jason will sport Snapdragon 660 Chipset along with Adeno 512 GPU and Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. It will come with a 5.1-inch display that has 1920*1080 pixel resolution and five finger gesture support.

Speaking of its storage, it will have 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, out of which 50GB will be reserved for users. The specifications regarding its battery have not been revealed as of yet.

Coming to its camera, it will sport a 12megapixel autofocus primary camera with LED flash and a 4megapixel secondary camera. The connectivity options for Xiaomi Jason include GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC. Besides, it also has gyroscope, accelerometer, light and proximity sensor.

The company may decide to release Xiaomi Jason with is Surge S2 processor, probably as another variant, as per GizmoChina.

Among the main differences between Xiaomi Mi 6 and Xaiomi Jason are its secondary camera and its processor. Xiaomi Mi 6 has a Snapdragon 835 chipset as against Snapdragon 660 in Jason. Meanwhile, Mi 6 comes with an 8megapixel secondary camera, while Jason comes with a 4megapixel secondary camera. Xiaomi Jason is being considered to be a lower end variant of Mi 6.

Xiaomi, which came out seven years ago in 2010, is one of the leading smartphone makers in the world. It designs, creates and sells laptops, mobile apps, smartphones and related consumer electronics. Its founder Lei Jun, who also serves as its CEO, is China’s 23rd richest person as per Forbes. The company has over 8,000 employees across the globe, including in Malaysia, Singapore, India, Bangladesh, Philippines, South Africa, among others.
