Asus, the Taiwanese giant, had earlier launched the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom in the US and it had a 5,000 mAh battery. That device has now been rechristened the Asus Zenfone Zoom S and has now come to India. We had also reported that the same device would soon come to India. Available at Rs 26,999, the new device has a lot of great features which, some might believe, are premium ones for a device retailing for under Rs 30K.
Asus ZenFone Zoom S Specs and Features
The Asus ZenFone Zoom S boasts of a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display that has a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Also aboard is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for added protection. Powering the device will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa core processor which is clocked at 2 GHz. This makes it a very good performer as the 625 SoC is the class leader of the Snapdragon 6 series. Also present are 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB of internal/native storage, the latter of which can be expanded to up to 2TB. The Adreno 506 GPU will take care of the graphics functions.
The new ZenFone Zoom S will run on the now-dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow together with the proprietary Zen UI 3.0. Like we mentioned before, the device has a mighty 5,000 mAh battery which can also act as a handy power bank for auxiliary devices. Asus has claimed that this battery has a standby time of a whopping 42 days.
Asus ZenFone Zoom S Camera and Optics
The new Asus device excels in this department with a dual camera setup with two 12-megapixel cameras. One sensor has a f/1.7 aperture and a 25mm wide angle lens while the other lens is a wide angle 59mm. A new SuperPixel camera technology will also be on board which will help the users take better pictures even in low light conditions. The front snapper has a 13-megapixel sensor which uses the splendid Sony IMX214 sensor, besides a f/2.0 aperture, as well as a screen flash feature.
Asus ZenFone Zoom S Price and Color Options
The new Asus ZenFone Zoom S has been priced at Rs 26,999. It will be made available from today as a Flipkart-exclusive product and will have two color options as of now: Glacier Silver and Navy Black.
