Honor V9 Play to Launch on September 6

Honor is launching the new Honor V9 Play on September 6, in an apparent attempt to ram up its slew of products. The new V9 Play is a variant of the Honor V9 which was launched earlier this year. The Honor V9 has proven to be an excellent device, as it has won a number of contests against some of its biggest rivals, including against the Sony Xperia XA2. Now, this new model of the V9 is expected to be successful as well.

Honor, which is a subsidiary of the consumer giant Huawei, has confirmed that the new Honor V9 Play will be launched on the last day of the IFA 2017, a globally renowned international technological fair which is set to take place in Berlin. We believe that the device will be available only in China, for now. When the Honor 8 was released last year, a more modest variant of the phone, the Honor 8 Youth edition, was released. Now that the Honor 9 is on the way, the new Honor V9 Play has been scheduled for launch. This is bound to be a budget device with good, albeit unexceptional, features.

Honor V9 Play Specs and Features

The Honor V9 Play is set to be a worthy sibling of the flagship device. Since this is a mid-range smartphone, expect it to be powered by the Kirin 659 chipset. This chipset will be ably complemented by 4 GB of RAM. We believe that the new device will come with a price tag of 1,499 Yuan, which is roughly equivalent to $227, This new device will also act as competition to rivals like the Xiaomi Mi 5X and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A.

The design philosophy of the new Honor V9 Play is a bit different from the traditional Honor 9. On board is a single rear/primary camera. The TENAA listing has put the rear sensor at 12MP. Also on the rear side is a fingerprint sensor.
