New Sony Xperia XZ1 Rear Panel Leaked Showing off Huge Camera Module

Sony has been in the headlines for all the right reasons lately. We had earlier reported that a new addition to the Xperia series of smartphones was on the way, called the Sony Xperia XZ1. We had earlier reported on how the new Xperia range will have superior rear cameras which would add to the near-flagship quality expected of the range. Now, a leak has surfaced showing the massive rear camera module of the upcoming Sony Xperia XZ1.

This report by Slashleaks, known for correctly projecting the features of many devices including the ones manufactured by Sony, shows off the massive rear camera module. The module can be seen on the top left corner on the rear end of the device. There is also a large LED Flash sitting pat next to it. This setup on the device is highly reminiscent of the Sony XZ Premium, which had performed very well in our face-off against its great rival, the LG G6.

Sony has always been a major player when it comes to photography and optics. Given the fact that the new Sony Xperia XZ1 has shown off a bigger LED flash module, it is expected that the camera will produce brighter and clearer photos. The LED flash module is, in fact, bigger than the one we saw on the Sony XZ Premium, which is considered the present flagship phone.

Should the leaked image turn out to be true, the new Sony Xperia XZ1 may also have on board a much more refined version of the 19MP Motion Eye camera which was present on the Xperia XZ Premium model. This camera is a very beautifully crafted piece of photographic equipment which is capable of recording super slow motion videos at a stunning 960 FPS.

Other features of the new phone will include Google Android O’s ‘Sony Edition’ with Sony‘s customized features overlaid over the standard Android OS.With a 5.1-inch 1080p display that boasts of a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the new Sony Xperia XZ1 will also have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC at its heart.
