Nokia 8 to Come to India Soon: Details

If the latest reports prove to be correct, the new Nokia 8, the flagship offering from the Finnish giant HMD Global, which has the rights to the Nikia brand, will soon make landfall in Indi. The Nokia 8 has already come to Asia and an Indian sojourn does not seem too distant now. We have covered the Nokia 8 extensively, including when it came in a customized version to the US and China.

When the Nokia 8 was announced late last month, we were informed that it would come to Asia in September. Now that the new device has been launched in Malaysia for a price of RM 2,299, an amount approximately equal to Rs. 35,000, we expect that the Nokia 8 will come to India soon. However, as of now, Nokia or HMD Global has not fixed an official launch date for the device, it must be said.

So, what goodies will the Nokia 8 have in store? Well, to begin with, it is a flagship product, which means that it has the best and top-of-the-line features which the users will find right up their alley. It boasts of a 5.3-inch IPS display with 2K resolution and with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection added for extra protection. At the heart of the device is a quality and the latest SoC in the market, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835; this works in tandem with 4GB of RAM. 835 SoC paired with 4GB RAM.

Also on board is 64GB of native or inbuilt storage which can be expanded to up to 256GB thanks to a microSD card. Powering the device is a 3090mAh battery, a tad disappointing, and which has Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support as well, for faster charging.

When it comes to optics and cameras, it is one department where the device excels. This device has a 13MP dual lens primary/rear camera; it can take pictures both in RGB as well as in Monochrome. We had earlier predicted that this would be the setup on the rear camera end. There is a13MP selfie camera with display flash. This new phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and stock Android and retains the 3.5mm audio jack as well as the USB Type-C port. More on the phone soon.
