Called the Honor Waterplay tab, the new device comes with a 10.1-inch FHD display and is IP67 certified. The tab was launched alongside the Honor 7X in its home country. We have previously covered the Honor 7X when it released. Two elements make the device special. One is the waterproof nature, as the name suggests. Also, the device has audio tuned by Harman Kordon and which makes for superior audio experiences. On board are 4 stereo speakers which give great 3D surround sound. Harman’s name also lends it visibility. The device has a 10.1-inch full HD display that has a screen resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. Expect sharper pictures thanks to the pixel density of 224ppi. The new Honor Waterplay tab The new Honor Waterplay has used Huawei’s own home-grown Kirin 659 octa-core SoC and will boast 64GB of internal or native storage. This internal storage capacity is further expandable to up to 256GB via a microSD card slot. Honor will launch two RAM variants of the device. While the basic one features 3GB of RAM, a more premium variant packs in a decent 4GB of RAM. As far as photography features are concerned, both the front and the rear side boasts of a single camera lens. Unfortunately, we do not know the details about the megapixel count that the camera sensor has. Note that this device is capable of capturing images in Bokeh effect. This is the first tab to have such a feature on board. The new Honor Waterplay Tab is set to run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS which will work with the custom Emotion UI 5.1 on top. The OS has been designed to minimize the app launching time, now reduced by 20%, as stated by Honor. The device has a pretty powerful 6,600mAh battery which has fast charging support; this means a full charge will take about 2.5 hours. It also supports reverse charging. On board is a USB Type-C port for charging the battery. The device will go on sale starting October 24 in China. No details on the price tag are available as of now.
