Teaser Implies Xiaomi Redmi 5 to Launch in India on February 14

The Xiaomi Redmi 5, which was officially launched in China in December alongside its higher variant (the Redmi 5 Plus), is all set to make its debut in India soon. According to the newest report, Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus will launch in India on February 14.

The report has been revealed through a Twitter post by Xiaomi India’s Twitter handle. The company has sent out media invites for the launch which is scheduled to happen next week. While we are still ahead of the company to offer the name of the smartphone, it is believed to be Redmi 5 as the invite carries the number “5”, reports Gizbot. The Redmi 5 with 4GB RAM was recently made official in China, as reported here.

To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ display and supports a screen resolution of 720×1440 pixels. The device sports an aspect ratio of 18:9. On the software front, the Redmi 5 runs Android Nougat operating system based on MIUI 9 on its top. The smartphone underneath packs in an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC with 2/ 3/ 4GB of RAM. The 16GB or the 32GB native storage can further be expanded.
