Samsung is expected to unveil two new models in its Galaxy A8 range of smartphones. Dubbed as Samsung Galaxy A8 Star and Galaxy A8 Lite, the smartphones have been spotted on the 3C Certification website in China indicating an early launch.
As per a report by 5gmobilephone, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star and Galaxy A8 Lite come with model numbers of SM-G8850 and SM-G8750 respectively. Apart from the model numbers, the listing on the certification website also reveals the charging capabilities of the two smartphones. Both the devices are expected to support fast charging feature with upto 9V output at 1.67Amps and standard charging at 5V and 2Amps. The listing does not contain any information about the internal specifications, however, it does reveal that the models will be launched in China on May 21.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star was earlier spotted on the Bluetooth SIG Certification website and also popped up on TENAA revealing some of the specifications. As per the TENAA listing, the smartphone is expected to arrive with 6.3-inch full HD+ Infinity Display and may be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 7885 processor or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC.
On the optics front, the device may sport a dual rear camera module with 24-megapixel and 16-megapixel cameras along with another 16-megapixel camera on the front panel with LED flash. The smartphone may boast 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. It may be fueled by a 3700mAh battery under the hood and run on Android Oreo out of the box.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is tipped to become the successor of the Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) that was launched in India this year at Rs 32,999. To recall the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus features a 6-inch full HD display screen powered by Exynos 7885 SoC. It comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. The smartphone features a dual front camera module with 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors. On the rear, it features a 16-megapixel camera with an LED flash. The device is powered by a 3,500mAh battery under the hood and also comes with IP 68 certification for water and dust resistivity.
