Nokia 6.1 Plus Goes to Sale in India from Today

HMD Global, the licensee of Nokia devices had unveiled the Nokia 6.1 Plus in India last week and the device is now available for purchase in the country from today. The Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with an iPhone X-like display notch and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC with dual cameras on the rear panel. It is an Android One device which means it runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo and will also get timely updates from Google over the course of its lifetime.

Nokia 6.1 Plus carries a price tag of Rs 15,999 in the country and was available for preorder via Flipkart and the official online Nokia store. The smartphone is available only in one variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage space and will go on sale from today. It will begin shipping in the country from August 31 as per the Nokia website.

Coming to the launch offers, Reliance Jio customers will get 240GB of complementary data (20GB per month for 12 months on recharging with Rs 199, Rs249 or Rs 448 recharge packs). Jio customers will also get an additional cashback of Rs 1800 in the form of 36 vouchers worth Rs 50 each. Buyers will also get no-cost EMI options. Customers buying the Nokia 6.1 Plus from Flipkart will also get 5% discount on purchases made through Axis Bank Buzz credit cards and 5% discount on availing EMI options through ICICI Bank credit cards.

To recall the specifications, the Nokia 6.1 Plus sports a 5.8-inch full HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM.

On the optics front, it features a dual rear camera module with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. It is accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash. On the front, it features a 16-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and video calling.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus boasts 64GB of inbuilt storage which is further upgradable with a micro-SD card up to a maximum of 400GB. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C Port and 3.5mm headphone jack. Powered by a 3060mAh battery under the hood, the smartphone runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
