Moto G7 Concept Images Hint at Waterdrop Notch Display

Motorola had launched a slew of Moto G series devices last year. While it launched the Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus first, it launched two other devices called Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus in the third quarter of the year. This year, the company announced the Moto G6 series of devices which include the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Plus.

Now it seems, the company has already started working on the next iteration of the Moto G series of devices for next year. As of now, no information is available about the release date of the Moto G7 series of devices but it can be assumed that the smartphones will follow the latest design trends and arrive with new top of the line features.

In a recent development, a concept video of the Moto G7 by designer Waqar Khan has surfaced online and it sheds some light on what we can expect from the upcoming flagship device from LG. The renders seen in the video hints at a modern look with trendy design elements found on the latest premium handsets of the current generation.

The Moto G7 renders show very thin bezels on the sides of the display panel with a noticeable chin. There seems to be a waterdrop notch on the top of the front display panel with the front-facing camera and earpiece positioned above it. Talking about the rear panel, it seems to be quite similar to the design of the Moto G6 lineup of devices. It features a horizontal dual camera module within a circular ring. The LED flash has been positioned inside the circular ring and the entire module seems to protrude from the rear panel. There is also a Batwing Motorola logo below the camera module which can also work as a fingerprint sensor.

The designer has also revealed that the smartphone may arrive with a hybrid SIM card slot which will support either tow SIMs or one SIM and a micro-SD card. On the design front, the hybrid SIM card slot can be seen on the left edge of the device, while the volume rockers and the power button can be seen on the right edge. As per some reports, the Moto G7 may be launched in April 2019 and it is set to be a mid-range device from the Chinese company.
