Xiaomi is going to end providing services to 7 Redmi devices soon. These devices will no longer be available to receive firmware update while these will get proper regular security update though. Here is the list of the devices-
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 4
- Xiaomi Redmi 3S
- Xiaomi Redmi 3X
- Xiaomi Redmi 4
- Xiaomi Redmi 4A
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
- Xiaomi Redmi Pro
Check whether your device falls in this list or not. If it’s listed then your device may miss the upcoming MIUI 10 Global stable version update which is expected to arrive in late April. Many experts are saying that as of now it will receive updates of MIUI 10 but in the future for the next one, MIUI 11 these devices will not be eligible.
Till now, there’s no official confirmation from the company’s end whether these will be going to miss the upcoming update or not. One thing is sure, these are all related to the firmware update not the security patches and all. So there is nothing to worry about especially if you are a privacy and security freak.
