Nokia 6 Users To Get Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update

HMD Global, the company which is responsible for bring back Nokia from the dark to the spotlight again is rolling out Android 7.1.1 Nougat for Nokia 6.

The various new features that come with the update include shortcut support on home screen, bug fixing, new and updated emoji, among others.

Back in February, the company announced the global roll-out of its latest flagship Nokia 6 apart from Nokia 3310, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3. All of these models are rumored to see a worldwide launch by the end of the second quarter of 2017. Nokia 6 (which is currently running on Android 7.0 Nougat) is apparently receiving Android 7.1.1 Nougat in China through OTA (Over The Air) update before going global.

Bearing a build name ’00CN_3N_170, the size of the update is approximately 369MB. Nokia 6 will have a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1920*1080 pixels resolution. It also sports a 2.5D curved glass display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clubbed with Adreno 505 GPU. Speaking of storage capacity, it has 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal memory, besides having the option of an expandable memory of up to 128GB through microSD. Embedded on its home screen is a fingerprint scanner, according to Tech 2.

Coming to its camera, it sports a 16 megapixels primary camera with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, 1.0um sensor and a dual-tone LED flash; and a 8 megapixels secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 1.12um sensor. The device also offers WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), OTG support, dual smart amplifiers, dual speakers, 4G LTE, GPS, dual SIM, Dolby Atmos and Bluetooth 4.1. It will come in an aluminum unibody design.
