HTC U11 With Snapdragon 835 Chipset Unveiled

Taiwanese consumer electronics company HTC has unveiled its latest flagship HTC U11 today. Powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset, it comes with a 5.5-inch QHD Super LCD 5 panel with Gorilla Glass 5 on top.

HTC U11 comes with a new feature called ‘Edge Sense’ which can be configured to do a number of tasks with either short or long squeeze.

The device comes in two storage variants. The first variant comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and the second variant comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

Speaking of the camera, it has a 12megapixel real UltraPixel 3-branded camera which offers a 1.4-micron pixel size, f/1.7 aperture, dual-LED flash and optical image stabilization. It can record 4K videos and slow motion in 1080p at 120 fps. It also comes with a 16megapixel camera which can record 1080p Full HD video and can also click panoramic selfies.

HTC U11 also has options for Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C port, GPS, WiFi 802.11ac, 3.5mm headset jack, NFC and Beidou on board. It sports both single-SIM and dual-SIM iterations, with the single-SIM having support for 1Gbps 4G LTE. The dual-SIM will only go up to 800Mbps.

Perhaps the most highly publicized feature of the device is its ‘Edge Sense’. This feature lets you squeeze the phone in order to execute specific actions. One can customize how hard you need yo squeeze to make something happen.

Another promising feature is the 360 real-life recording feature, which refers to the device’s 3D audio recording capabilities, powered by 4 microphones.

HTC U11 is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery which has two different power saving modes. Weighing 169gm, it measures 153.9*75.9*7.9. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with HTC sense.

The latest flagship by HTC also comes with an IP67 certification for water and dust resistance, which means it is dust tight and can withstand being immersed in up to 1m of water for up to 30 minutes.

Currently, it is available in Sapphire Blue, Ice White, Solar Red, Brilliant Black and Amazing Silver.

Global pricing for the device has been set at EUR 749 (approximately Rs. 53,000 in Indian value), as per NDTV Gadget 360 Degrees.
