Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications equipment and services company Huawei will be launching the 6GB RAM variant of its flagship smartphone Honor 9 in India in August this year. The product was recently launched in its home country of China.
The news was confirmed by Allen Wang, who serves as the Director of Product Center in Huawei India. Speaking about the Indian launch, Wang said that the delay in the product’s Indian launch is because of customization issue as the company is customizing the Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.1 skin for the Indian users. However, he has not revealed any details regarding the price of the product.
Honor 9 follows the legacy of its predecessors Honor 7, Honor 6 Plus and Honor 8 when it comes to the dual camera. It features a combination of 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel camera for the dual-camera setup. It supports 4K video recording and has a f/2.2 aperture. For its secondary camera, it features an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. It has support for phase detection autofocus, geo-tagging, face detection, panorama, touch focus and HDR.
Sporting a fine 5.15-inch full HD 2.5D curved glass display with 1920*1080pixels, it has a fingerprint sensor on the front panel embedded into the home button. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and comes with EMUI 5.1 on top of it. Backed by a 3,200mAh battery with support for fast charging, it is powered by a 2.1GHz octa-core Kirin 960 processor clubbed with Mali G71 MP8 GPU.
Speaking of its storage facility, it has 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal memory, which can be further expanded with the help of a micro SD card. It has a Hybrid Dual SIM tray, as per The Mobile Indian.
Huawei Honor 9 also has an Infrared sensor and a USB Type-C port. Its connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, WiFI a/b/g/n/ac, 3.5mm headphone jack and 4G LTE with VoLTE.
Weighing 155gm, the device measures 147.3*70.9*7.45mm. Although the color variants for the Indian launch is not known yet, if we go by the Chinese release, we might see the product come in four color variants – Charm Sea Blue, Black, Seagull Gray and Amber Gold.
