Privately owned Chinese electronics company Xiaomi is making its latest flagship Xiaomi Redmi 4A go on sale from today at 12 PM via Amazon India. Available at a price of Rs. 5,999, the device comes in two color variants: Dark Grey and Gold.
Xiaomi Redmi 4A, which was launched in March this year, was made available for pre-order on May 19 at the company’s official website, Mi.com. It comes with a 5-inch HD (720*1280 pixels) display. It is backed by 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with Adreno 308 GPU.
Speaking of its storage capacity, it will have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, that can be expanded further with the help of a microSD card. It will be backed back by a 3,210mAh battery.
Coming to its camera, the device will sport a 13megapixel primary camera of f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and 5-element lens. It will also have a 5megapixel secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The connectivity options of Xaiomi Redmi 4A include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, 4G VoLTE and GPS/ A-GPS It will also various sensor features including gyroscope, infrared, accelerometer, proximity and ambient light. Measuring 139.5*70.4*8.5mm, Xiaomi Redmi 4A weighs 131.5g, as per NDTV Gadget 360 Degrees.
The company has stated that it has so far sold 250,000 units of the device on Amazon and Mi.com during its first flash sale, with the e-commerce site witnessing more than 5 million hits per minute.
Xiaomi is the 4th most valuable technology start-up after it received $1.1 billion funding from investors, making the company’s valuation more than $46 billion. The company entered the Indian market through Flipkart in 2014. It has more than 8,000 employees in China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh, South Africa, Indonesia, Brazil and Philippines.
The company was established in 2010 by Chinese entrepreneur Lei Jun, who was named by Forbes as the’ Business Of The Year’ in 2014. He was also was ranked 87 on its list of global billionaires with a personal worth of $13.2 in 2015.
