Huawei Mate 10 May Have a Pro Variant, Rumors Allege

If the latest rumors coming from China prove to be correct, the much-anticipated Huawei Mate 10 may have a Pro variant, a device which will be more powerful than the regular Mate 10. We have been getting a spate of reports on the Mate 10 lately, including information that it will be powered by the latest high-performance HiSilicon Kirin 970 processors. Note that the Huawei Mate 10 is set to release soon as the price tag of the preceding Mate 9 has been slashed.

If true, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, if that is what it is ultimately called, will be an excellent device. This latest bit of news comes from a Chinese website, news.zol.com, and you can read the report here. The same source also suggests that the Pro variant of the Huawei Mate 10 will have a full-screen bezel-less display, something we had reported a month ago. The Huawei Mate 10 regular variant will have a standard display, the report states.

A Pro variant of the Huawei Mate 10 is en route

There is another area of difference between the two siblings. While the Huawei Mate 10 will have the fingerprint scanner on the front, probably mounted on the display itself, the Mate 10 Pro will have the fingerprint scanner on the back, as the display will not be able to accommodate the feature.

This essentially means that Huawei is willing to take it to some of the biggest names in the industry as far as the big-screen mobile device market is concerned. A Pro variant of any device is launched as a test version to check out the best features which are normally reserved for next year’s flagship devices. Also, in the case of the Huawei Mate 10, the Pro variant will also be useful to create a niche out for itself.

Huawei has also been successful at combining the display and the fingerprint scanner, creating the display mounted fingerprint scanner. Apple and Samsung have taken years to perfect this technology.
