Google Pixel 2 May Feature 64GB and 128GB Storage Variants, IP68 Rated Water Resistance

If a recent report is true, the upcoming Google Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL range may come with two storage variants; one with 64GB of internal storage and a more premium variant with 128GB of internal storage. We had previously mentioned that the two new devices would come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and not the SD 836 SoC as was previously reported.

A whole set of new features seem to be destined for the new Google Pixel 2 devices. It will have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. It will also give the 3.5m headphone jack the miss as it is the norm these days. We had earlier reported on how the new Google Pixel series would come without the 3.5mm headphone jack while, at the same time, coming with dual rear cameras for the first time in its brief history.

On the rear of the camera will be electronic image stabilization or EIS and not optical image stabilization or OIS. This feature is identical to the Pixel and Pixel XL. The news was first published by 9to5Google, which also stated that there would be a USB Type-C to 3.5mm jack dongle which will be shipped with the phone in order to ensure that no user faces any problem as far as the earphones are concerned. In addition, we believe that with the IP68 rating will make the new devices flagship level entries.

Also on board is an Always On display, something which is a standard feature of many modern mobile devices. Always On display is something which comes with its main benefits. We could also spot the camera module as well as the round-shaped fingerprint scanner.

Lastly, we believe that the new Google Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL will come with the latest Google Android 8.0 Oreo. You can also learn some of the latest features of the new Google Pixel devices.
