OnePlus 5T to Unveil with a Higher Price Tag Than Its Predecessor

“Cost of smartphone components is rising, but phones are also getting better. OnePlus users will appreciate what’s coming.” The leak surfaced online a couple of days ago, which allegedly indicates that OnePlus 5T will have a higher price tag compared to its predecessor. If this news is what we think it to be, fans definitely need to shell out an expensive amount in order to purchase the new smartphone that is replacing the OnePlus 5 next week.

According to the post, Pete Lau has claimed that the increase in the pricing of smartphones is the only cause of devices ‘getting better’. Earlier this week, a OnePlus fan had asked him whether or not the 4,000 Yuan amount is sufficient for purchasing the forthcoming device, to which, Lau responded positively (as reported by GizmoChina). Taking a stab at its price figure, we expect the OnePlus 5T variant with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage will be priced at 4,000 Yuan or $602 (approx).

While OnePlus 5T was reported to come sans the wireless charging technology, fans were never disappointed with this. For, the Shenzhen based smartphone manufacture prefer to stick to its tradition by unveiling the forthcoming smartphone with dash charging technology. Also, through the OnePlus 5T’s render, there arrived some resemblance to the OPPO R11S. We have seen how the R11S key specs were revealed ahead of its launch (which we have reported here).

Originally, OnePlus One was introduced in the year 2014 with a price tag of $299. Since then, the tech giant has consistently been increasing the pricing of their devices. By the time OnePlus 5 entered the tech world, the pricing went higher by $40 over its predecessor model. As per possibilities, the OnePlus 5T‘s 64 GB model is pegged up with a price tag of $519. On the other front, the 128 GB variant is expected to cost approximately $579.
