Only yesterday, we had reported how the iconic Sandstone white-finished version of the OnePlus 5T was soon to make an appearance. Now, the company has finally announced that this version is indeed official and that the sales will debut starting January 9. The teasers which we had reported on had shown that a mystery box containing a mystery device was on the way. Now we know what it really is.
We had also reported that the OnePlus 5T had been listed on JD.Com. Now, thanks to the official Twitter handle of the company, we know exactly what the phone will look like, what it will feature, and what the price tag will be. The official Twitter handle posted a 40-second video which showed off the phone and also revealed its pricing and availability details. We can now confirm that the OnePlus 5T Sandstone White variant will come for $559 which is the same price tag as the Midnight Black variant is.
This new OnePlus 5T Sandstone White limited edition model bears the iconic OnePlus Sandstone finish, which has been a fan-favorite and comes with a sleek all-aluminum shell. OnePlus claims that this final form has been created after 100 prototypes and a total of four layers have now been used to in order to create a body which is natural. Both natural and minimalistic, in fact, so as to ensure that it looks good, feels good, and is good to the touch as well.
The new OnePlus 5T Sandstone White variant bears a rather striking resemblance to the Star Wars edition model but, obviously, it does not have the Star Wars branding on the rear cover and neither are there any Star Wars wallpapers. We really appreciated the white colored back with the Sandstone finish, as well as the black power and volume keys besides the Mineral Red Alert Slider. This is the same sort of alert slider with a red accent that we saw on the OnePlus 5T Star Wars edition model. Stay tuned for Januar 9.
