Samsung Galaxy S9 Duo India Launch Scheduled for Today; Pre-Ordering Starts at 2 PM

The Samsung Galaxy S9 duo is all set for the India launch today. We have even reported on the same news a couple of days ago when the rumor mill suggested the same with emerging leaks. Talking about the launch event, it has been scheduled to take place in India’s capital Delhi and will start at 12:30 PM.

The new Samsung flagship smartphones were unveiled at the MWC 2018 event in Barcelona, Spain. This time, unlike prior years, Samsung is gearing for the flagship’s India launch right after a week of the official unveiling of the devices. Despite the launching of Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ set for today, the pre-registration for the same smartphones were open through the official website of the company as well as the Airtel Online Store. Interested users can get the smartphones via Flipkart as well. The e-commerce site has even announced that fans can pre-book the Galaxy S9 duo from 2 PM onwards today.

As far as the specs are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display and the bigger Galaxy S9+ sports a mammoth 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display. Both are powered by the company’s in-house Exynos 9810 processor. While the Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with 4GB of RAM, the Galaxy S9+ features a whopping 6GB of RAM. But as far as the reports are concerned, the South Korean tech conglomerate will only launch the 64GB plus 256GB variants of Galaxy S9 duo in India. The Galaxy S9 is powered by a 3,000mAh battery, whereas, the Galaxy S9+ comes with a 3,500mAh battery.

On the software front, both the Samsung devices run the Android Oreo OS with the company’s new Grace UX. The new Galaxy smartphones have the support of AR Emojis, AI-powered Bixby voice assistant, as well as improved KNOX and Intelligent Scan security system. Coming with improved camera department, the smartphones also have a variable aperture which comes with a narrower aperture of f/2.4 to a wider aperture of f/1.5. The Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with a single rear camera of 12MP, and the bigger Galaxy S9+ has a dual rear camera module with a pair of 12MP sensors.

The popular e-commerce site, Flipkart, has not yet revealed about the launch offers of these Samsung smartphones, but we need to keep an eye for more information on this front. One can also expect the e-retailer to announce the offers right after the pre-booking or the sale starts.
