Under the new Rs 249 plan, Airtel is offering 2GB of high-speed 4G data per day for a period of 28 days. In addition, customers who opt for this plan will also get unlimited local, STD and roaming call across all networks in the country. The customers will also get 100 text messages per day over the 28 day period.

This pack has been reportedly launched to take on Reliance Jio’s Rs 299 plan that currently offers 84GB of high-speed 4G data for 28 days. It is to be noted that Reliance Jio is offering 3GB of 4G data per day to its customers as opposed to Airtel that is only offering 2GB of data every day. In addition, the Rs 299 pack of Reliance Jio also offers unlimited local, STD and roaming calls to any network in India and 100 SMS messages per day. The customers also get a free subscription to all Jio apps like Jio Cinema, Jio Music, and others.

Airtel has also revised its Rs 349 prepaid plan that was launched a few months ago. Under the Rs 349 plan after revision, the company is offering 3GB of 4G data per day with a validity of 28 days. In addition, it also offers unlimited local, STD and roaming calls to any network in India along with 100 SMS messages per day over the entire 28 day period.

Airtel may have revised this plan to challenge Reliance Jio that has a Rs 349 plan of its own that offers 1.5GB of 4G data per day with a validity of 70 days. Other benefits are same as Airtel’s plan like unlimited calls to any network and 100 SMS texts per day over the 70 day period.
