WhatsApp Rolls Out Payments Feature to Everyone: Report

Popular social media messaging company WhatsApp seem to have rolled out the payments feature to everyone. The feature was first introduced by the Facebook-owned company early this year. Now reportedly some users have received this feature already and are not being rolled out globally due to some legal issues regarding the third-party data sharing policy of Facebook.

After a few months of testing of this new feature, it seems that the issues have been solved finally and it has been rolled out for everyone. Although there is no confirmation about the same from WhatsApp as of now, a report by Entrackr has claimed that the payments feature is now available for all users.

As of now, however not all have received this new feature but one who has can invite other users to use the same very easily. To invite other users, all you need to do is tap on the payments feature on the chat window. This will send an invite to the other user to use this feature although you will be notified that the user has not attached his bank account.

The WhatsApp Payments feature is fairly simple to use. All you need to do is attach your bank account with the phone number registered on Whatsapp and verify the same by providing the OTP sent on your number. This will enable you to request and send money to other users directly through the app.

The only downside of this feature is that it comes with a maximum transaction limit of Rs 5000. However, this limit is likely to be removed very soon after the feature is made available to everyone.

Apart from the payments feature, WhatsApp has also rolled out two additional features for its users. First is the option to scan QR codes and send money directly to UPI IDs like Bhim. Secondly, users can now request money through the payments feature from their friends or relatives.
