Moto One Power Set to Launch in India on September 24

Moto One Power, the latest Android One smartphone from Motorola is now set to launch in India on September 24. The Lenovo owned company has scheduled a September 24 launch event to unveil the Moto One Power that was first unveiled at the IFA 2018 held in Berlin last month. The device comes with MaxVision display and is powered by Snapdragon 636 SoC. Being a part of the Android One program of Google, the handset is expected to receive regular security and software updates in the future including Android 9 Pie.

The official Twitter account of Motorola teased the Moto One Power launch date in India yesterday. The tweet carries a video that shows the Motorola One Power Branding. There is also a hashtag that displays the phone’s name. The company says that the upcoming model is a ”co-creation of Motorola and Google”.

Coming to the price of the Motorola One Power, the handset is expected to cost around Rs 14,000 making it a budget offering from the company. Although there is no information about the expected date of availability of the device in India, Motorola had revealed at the IFA 2018 press conference that the Moto One Power would arrive in India by October and it would also be an exclusive device for the India markets.

To recall the specifications, the Moto One Power features a 6.2-inch full HD+ MaxVision LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636SoC coupled with Adreno 509 GPU and 4GB of RAM. On the optics front, the device sports a dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, it features a 12-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and video calling.

The device comes with 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be further upgraded with the help of a micro-SD card up to 256GB. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack. Powered by a massive 5,000mAh battery, the device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and is upgradable to Android 9 Pie.
